Celebrating Athletic Excellence: The Inaugural Ndukuma Dam Run
It is often said that every great journey begins with a single step. For the Ndukuma Dam Run, that step was nothing short of spectacular. This inaugural event has now established itself as a prominent fixture on the sporting calendar, showcasing the remarkable endurance and skill of elite runners.
Women’s 15km Race: A Showcase of Stamina and Speed
In the women’s 15km elite race, Fridah Ndinda demonstrated remarkable prowess, securing a decisive victory through her unparalleled stamina and speed. Her performance was so impressive that it has been rumoured that even the wind was trying to keep up with her.
In second place was Nimpha Kiteta, with Wilfred Mbithe in third. As the saying goes, “You don’t have to be perfect to get started, but you have to get started to be successful.”
Women’s 10km: Thrills and Triumphs
The 10km race for women was an extremely exciting event. Jacinta Kavindu completed the race in the fastest time, making a significant impact on the event. In second place was Diana Wanza, whose powerful stride earned her this position, while Pauline Mbithe completed the top three with a strong finish. The competition was as intense as it was close.
Men’s 15km Race: The Battle of the Titans
In the men’s 15km elite race, Mr. Shadrack Korir demonstrated superior strategic pacing and determination, securing a dominant performance. Mr. Korir led the pack with the assurance and guidance of a shepherd leading his flock. Mr. Atanas Kioko was the runner-up, while Mr. Benson Mushon took third place.
Their performances were a testament to the rich athletic talent of the region.
Men’s 10km: Rigorous Training Pays Off
The men’s 10km race was a notable success for Mr. Nelson Mari from the Ndumbi training camp, reflecting the effectiveness of his rigorous training regimen. Mr. Daniel Kioko and Mr. Michael Mwaluko also demonstrated their athletic abilities, finishing in second and third place, respectively.
This was undoubtedly a race to remember.
